The evening, which was hailed a great success, saw the six candidates battling it out on the roulette and blackjack tables before facing a Q&A session with the panel of judges.

Nick Potter, managing director of Gala Casinos and judge at the event, was delighted with the competition, “The Croupier of the Year final was an exciting opportunity to see our biggest asset, our people, showcasing their outstanding talent.  It’s a fantastic initiative from Gala Casinos and, based on the success of this year, we’re looking forward to making it an annual event.”

The search to find Gala’s best Croupier started in February.  The competition comprised of four stages: a written application, the submission of a VHS video, three regional finals and the national final. Candidates were judged on their dealing technique, customer interaction, personality and charisma and their potential to be Croupier Ambassador.
