    Eurocoin has been awarded the title of "Distributor of the Year" by Coin Mechanisms Inc for the second year running.

    Eurocoin saw sales of Coin Mechanisms Inc comparitors soar during 2001 in preparation for the introduction of the euro. Key to the company's success was the popularity and widespread installation of the SmartMark token system which is distributed exclusively in Europe by Eurocoin. 

    Eurocoin entered into discussion with Coin Mechanisms Inc and Roger Williams Mint (supplier of the specially-designed tokens) almost three years ago to bring SmartMark to the European market. Having experienced a growing preference for tokens over cash
for casino slots, Eurocoin anticipated strong demand for an advanced technology token-based system for euro introduction which would offer higher levels of security. The resulting system, launched in June 2000, was put through extensive tests by leading casino groups and has since been installed in thousands of slot machines in over a hundred properties throughout France, Germany, Austria, Holland and Luxembourg.
