Eurocoin has extended its coin handling range with the launch of the Azkoyen Hopper U. During January, Eurocoin was announced as the lead supplier of Azkoyen products in the UK and will soon be offering servicing and repair of hoppers and peripherals at its workshop in Barnet, England. The Eurocoin sales team introduced the predecessor to this product (Hopper E) to the market almost ten years ago with great success and sees huge potential for the latest generation.
"As many
machine manufacturers and operators found out during the introduction of
the euro, the Azkoyen product range offers major technical advantages over
competitive hoppers" said Steve Smith, Eurocoin's sales director. "Its
flexibility, reliability and security features make it a market-leader."
The microprocessor-controlled
Hopper U offers fast payout speeds of up to 8 coins a second. In standard
format it accepts coins from 18 to 30mm in diameter, with 12 to 20mm and
22 to 32mm options. As it is not coin-specific, it is suitable for all
coins within its dimension range, including Euro denominations, without
re-programming. The design of the unit includes a feature to prevent coin
jams and each coin is handled individually when paying-out to ensure accuracy.
Control is via advanced electronics and optical sensors are used for coin
counting. A low level sensor with error signal is incorporated as standard,
with the option of either high level sensor, high level switch or overflow
configurations as required to handle coins when the hopper is full.
There
are three sizes of Hopper U - small, medium and large - to hold 250, 400
and 600 coins respectively (based on coins of 25.4mm diameter and 2.8mm
thickness). If required the units can be supplied with an optional extension
section which increases the coin capacity by 75% on the medium hopper and
more than 83% on the large unit, making it ideal for high-payout machines.
Serial communication is available across all three units based on CCtalk
protocol. Hopper U in conventional communication has three forms, Mode
one negative, Mode two positive and Mode three pulsed. Mode one is compatible
with Hopper E.
