The new
Euro Micro Comparitor has a unique coil design which allows the bi-metallic
coin to be accurately and consistently validated, providing protection
against known frauds.
The validator
also has a number of other advanced coin recognition features and anti-fraud
safeguards made possible by its on-board micro controller. For example
four sensors - two at the entry point and two at the exit - check that
the coin passes right through the unit as protection against stringing
attempts. All this is achieved at fast playing speeds of up to 7 coins
per second and software in the micro controller buffers information to
ensure that every coin is checked individually - even if coins travel through
the comparitor edge-to-edge.
The MC
Series, which offers a choice of electronic interfaces to suit the application,
is available in Europe exclusively from Eurocoin. It is part of a family
of coin comparitor products from Coin Mechanisms Inc which includes the
CC Series (already a gaming industry standard) and the IC validator (which
offers advanced optical recognition of SmartMark profiled tokens). The
MC Series range is recommended by Eurocoin for bi-metallic coins in single-coin
applications and the company is advising clients to upgrade their CC16,
CC40 and CC62 validators with their 'Plug and Play' direct replacements
(MC16, MC40 and MC62).
