Access Gaming Systems
(AGS) releases new Linked Jackpots module as part of their certified Interactive
Gaming system.
Dublin, Ireland
March
6th 2002
Access
Gaming Systems (Europe) Ltd. (www.access.com.au)
is pleased to announce the launch of its new Linked Jackpots functionality.
The Access Linked Jackpots can be offered as either a stand-alone module
linking games within one site, or, as a Central Jackpot Controller (CJC)
linking external internet and/or land based casinos.
High security
is a paramount feature of Access Linked Jackpots. Both regulatory and commercial
considerations are addressed in the design of Access Linked Jackpots, including:
-
Game Performance
-
Player fairness
-
Functionality
An Access Linked Jackpot
can be configured as one of three options:
-
Game Triggered - the jackpot
is won when the result of a participating game matches a predefined outcome;
for example, five aces in a slots game.
-
Amount Triggered - the jackpot
is won when the active pool of funds from player contributions for that
jackpot reaches a predetermined amount.
-
Ballot Triggered - the jackpot
is won by random selection of the winning player from all contributors
to that jackpot pool.
These triggers satisfy two
essential requirements with respect to player fairness:
-
The minimum amount that a player
could win were they to trigger a jackpot is displayed prior to placement
of a bet.
-
All players for the jackpot
are advised that it has been triggered as soon as possible after the event,
and details are provided of the game result and the amount won.
According
to Paul Barnes, AGS Vice President of Sales & Marketing, “Access Linked
Jackpots are an attractive and versatile extension to any Internet gaming
system, whether the gaming organisation uses the AGS system software produced
by Access Gaming Systems or another legacy gaming system. We expect the
first jackpot implementations to be up-and-running very soon”.
The AGS
interactive gaming system is an extremely secure, scalable, robust and
high performance transaction processing architecture for interactive gaming
via the internet, interactive television and wireless networks, supporting
Casino, Instant Lotto, Draw Lotto and Sports Betting games. It was the
first internet gaming system in the world to be certified by a government
gaming authority in a fully regulated jurisdiction.
The AGS
System has been licensed to major gaming operators in Australia, Austria,
Germany, France, Holland, Norway and the United Kingdom. AGS has two offices,
in Bray, Ireland and Sydney, Australia.
