Sky Group rides Dolphin into Adelaide

Sydney
9th January, 2002

The SkyCity Adelaide casino has just taken delivery of a new Dolphin chip bank, supplied by Australasian Casino Equipment Supplies (ACES).  Dolphin Chips, manufactured in Melbourne, Australia, are distributed worldwide by the TCS Group, with ACES the Australian based subsidiary, servicing customers in the Western Pacific region.

The Adelaide Casino was purchased by Sky City Limited in 2000 and has since been extensively refurbished.  The property was re-launched as “SkyCity Adelaide” in April 2001 and a new chip bank was thus required with Dolphin Products selected as preferred supplier.

“For our new property we wanted a product that looked good, felt good, and was good value.  Furthermore we needed cash chips with special security features, not just valid now, but for the future.” commented Carmine Borrelli, Table Games Operations Manager at SkyCity Adelaide.

“With over 80 tables and a high level of premium players, our chip requirements were complex with detailed and sophisticated specifications.  Working with Dolphin and ACES we were able to develop and design a special set of cash chips in-house.  Production took just a few weeks, and we’re very happy with the final result.” Borrelli said.

Dolphin Chips are now in use at a number of Australian casinos, including Crown Casino in Melbourne, Star City in Sydney and Burswood Casino, Perth.
