CHICAGO
April 19, 2001

WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE: WMS),
announced today that it has received an order representing its 5,000th game

"Since the opening of the California market, WMS has been a
marketshare leader and we continue to exceed expectations for unit
sales in the State," commented Brian R. Gamache, President and Chief
Operating Officer of WMS Industries Inc. "Our success is due to our
full commitment to the California market, the first major market opened
