Expands Participation Gaming Machine Product Line With Second Game in the Puzzle Pays(TM) Series -
Industries Inc (NYSE: WMS) announced today that it has
entered into a licensing agreement with Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS)
whereby WMS has secured the exclusive rights in the United States and
Canada to develop, manufacture and market gaming machines based on the
world-famous board game, SCRABBLE(R).
Created by Alfred Mosher Butts in the 1930's, the SCRABBLE board
game combines the vocabulary skills of crossword puzzles and anagrams
with an element of chance. More than 60 years later, the SCRABBLE game
remains one of the most popular board games available from Hasbro
today, with more than 100 million games sold worldwide.
"The SCRABBLE theme is a strong addition to our lineup of new
participation games and further extends our group of licensed gaming
machines based on high profile consumer brand names such as
MONOPOLY(R) and JUMBLE(R)," said Brian R. Gamache, President and Chief
Operating Officer. "Following JUMBLE, SCRABBLE is the second game in
WMS' new Puzzle Pays series which will feature some of the world's
most highly recognizable puzzle games and brands. The games will be
packaged together with themed signage and similar game play concepts,
allowing WMS to provide casinos with a total package for a themed area

The SCRABBLE product is currently under development. Pending
regulatory approval, the game will be placed in Nevada casinos in
