The president of the legislature of the province of Styria, Rheinhold Purr (ÖVP), was very pleased to see that Atronic International's investment in Groß St. Florian has continued to emphasize the economy's faith in the Styria region. He received a warm welcome in Groß St. Florian from Paul Gauselmann, chairman of the board of the Gauselmann AG and Michael Gauselmann, vice chairman of the board of the Gauselmann AG and CEO of Atronic, at the opening of the new production facilities.

Also present from the legislature were representatives Wolfgang Kasic and Karl Wiedner. Also taking part in the festivities, among other guests of honor and employees of the company, were the mayor of the community of Groß St. Florian and the priest of the local parish, who did not want to miss the opportunity to bless the building, as it is tradition in Styria.

Atronic, the International flagship of the Gauselmann Group, achieved a breakthrough in 2000, according to Michael Gauselmann. The company, founded in 1993, is now beginning to prosper on a global scale. Michael Gauselmann described being able to take over the company as a great personal opportunity. He thanked the entire group for believing in his and Atronic's vision. The new production facilities became necessary in order to meet the ambitious goals  set for the coming years. 20,000 slot machines are to be shipped from the facility per annum to casinos all over the world.  A total of 1.1 million DM were invested in the new building. The total production area covers 1600 m² with an additional 650 m² of office space. Along with the already existing production facility covering approximately 3000 square meters, a total production area of 4600 square meters now allows significantly increased output.

The company Gauselmann was founded just half a century ago, in 1957, said Paul Gauselmann. Today the Gauselmann Group, with sales of 1.13 billion DM (7.9 billion ATS) and over 5000 employees, is the leader in Germany and Europe in electronic entertainment. In just five decades, the one-man business developed into a global player relying predominantly on the production of amusement machines with prize for the German and European markets.

In addition, there are approximately 180 Merkur amusement arcades across Europe as well as a worldwide business network of development, production and marketing of casino gaming machines. Atronic, with its headquarters in Lübbecke, Germany, produces casino gaming machines with R&D, production and marketing locations in Austria (Graz and Groß St. Florian), Great Britain, USA, South America, South Africa and Australia.

Paul Gauselmann congratulated his son, Michael Gauselmann, who is responsible for the international business, on his worldwide and multicultural team of young and successful employees who are constantly focused on one goal: seeing the Merkur sun shine in casinos all over the world.
