The River City
Group has announced plans for the premier industry event in the
world of interactive gaming. The Global Interactive Gaming Summit
and Expo
will be held at the Hotel Delta Centre-Ville in Montreal, Quebec from
May 10-12.
The theme for the event is Montreal 2000 – Expanding Our Horizons.
The event will build on the company’s first successful event in 1999
with
an expo that will feature the latest wares of over 26 vendors to the
industry. This includes companies that offer gaming software,
e-commerce
providers, gambling information sites, internet services, publications,
auditing firms and others which serve the industry.
The seminar track will update delegates on what’s happening in the industry
globally. This includes a look at the overall industry, marketing
issues,
payment solutions, legal concerns, and responsible gaming. Special
geographic presentations will offer insight on how the industry is
progressing in Australasia, Africa, Europe as well as North America.
The
program features a special focus on progress toward international regulatory
cooperation. A separate half-day pre-summit workshop will include
a “how
to” primer for those interested in entering the business.
The keynote speaker will offer a glimpse of the future for the delegates.
Futurist Frank Feather is an accomplished author who has written several
books which highlight the internet’s role in consumer trends.
His newest
book is Future Consumer.Com: The "Webolution" of Shopping to 2010.
According
to Feather, by 2010, the "Webolution" will "gobble up 30 percent of
consumer
spending, leaving most brick-and-mortar retailers in rubble." The Web
will
be 100 times larger, and online sales will grow to top $1 trillion.
Sponsors for the event are Mohawk Internet Technologies, Microgaming
Systems, I Gaming Solutions and SoftNet Gaming, Inc. The event
includes a
variety of networking opportunities for the over 500 international
gaming
industry leaders expected to attend as delegates.
The Summit and Expo is produced by The River City Group which publishes
Interactive Gaming News as well as the syndicated report called Wagering
on
the Internet. The company also offers other services such as
