Following extensive discussions, the general consensus
in the gaming industry in South Africa is to postpone this
year’s expo to 2001.
Although the licensing process in the casino as well
as the Limited Payout Machine market has been delayed in the
past, the feeling in the industry is that a number of permanent casinos
are likely to open in the second half of 2000.
In addition, the roll-out of the Limited Payout Machine market is earmarked
for the latter half of this year.
Based on that situation, the major exhibitors feel
that it would be in the best interest of the South African gaming
industry to hold the show in the first half of 2001. The date and venue
will be announced at a later date.
André Gouws leaves the company effective 1
April, 2000 to pursue a career in tourism and international Internet
marketing. Roy Bannister takes over as editor and publisher and Ronel
Gouws remains with the company as
advertising manager.
