New ICE formation a success for the European Gaming Organisation...

ICE Show – London - January 2001

The Netherlands,
January 31st 2001

The European Gaming Organisation has just enjoyed the most successful show, for the first time we provided, with the help of the ICE organisers, a new style stand with meeting rooms. The facility was used by many of the members who found the opportunity to talk with customers in quiet surroundings rewarding in more terms than one.

The same style of stand will be used at the Gaming show in Las Vegas from Oct 1st to the 3rd and we are sure that the meeting rooms will be of even more use to all the European contingent attending the show who will, for the first time in America, have a focal point.

On the Wednesday evening, at the show close, a small and very pleasant reception was held on the stand for members, potential members and guests from the industry. This was the first time for such as gathering to take place after the show has closed for the evening and demonstrates the good relationship that has developed between ICE and EGO in the sponsorship of the show.

Five more companies held talks on applying for membership during the show and great interest was shown, from all sides of the industry, in EGO’s expansion plans that will result in a more active organisation with a defined set of goals and in a better and more effective representation for the industry.

We were very pleased to take part in the inaugural Ice Ball at the Dorchester Hotel, this splendid occasion enabled people from the casino industry to mix together and in an exciting half hour period raised some £47,000 for charity.

EGO believes that its involvement, and increased facilities, in both the London ICE show and the Las Vegas G2e show is of direct benefit to the members and the resulting higher profile for the organisation will help it to meet the goals being set.
