|EUROPEAN GAMING FORUM 2001
ESTORIL ANNOUNCED AS NEW VENUE
Thursday 7th September 2000
EGO (the European Gaming Organisation) has announced the date and venue for the European Gaming Forum 2001. Once again the European Gaming Forum will be an event ‘By the Industry for the Industry’ and will be jointly organised and promoted by EGO and Casino World magazine.
After the overwhelming success of this year’s inaugural European Gaming Forum in Malta the event now moves to mainland Europe and will be held at the Hotel Estoril Sol, Portugal and the adjacent Casino Estoril from Sunday 29th (arrival) April to Wednesday 2nd May (departure). Two full days of Forum activities take place on Monday 30th April and Tuesday 1st May.
The European Gaming Forum takes as its theme ‘2001 A Gaming Oddessy’ and both the event’s business and social programmes have been planned by reference to the post-event survey completed by delegates attending this year’s event.
EGO’s Chairman Kit Hall-Johnston commented:
"The Forum held earlier this year was an amazing success and we guarantee
2001 will be even better. We wanted direct feedback from the delegates
who came to Malta, in order to be able to incorporate their ideas and wishes
into our planning. Delegates wanted the travel convenience of having the
event held close to a major city on mainland Europe. In Estoril I believe
that we have secured a fantastic location. Delegates wanted an event that
concentrated on key business areas while also providing greater opportunities
for relaxation and networking. We have highlighted several topics that
are crucial to the European gaming industry’s development and these will
be detailed during the World Gaming Congress & Expo in Las Vegas in
Casino World’s Roger Melling added: "The initial European Gaming Forum set a new standard for a European-based conference event. What EGO and ourselves are planning for 2001 will raise the standard still further. The input from this year’s delegates has allowed us to fine tune the original concept and the change in location to one of Europe’s most impressive casino properties is one that I warmly welcome."
