RAY have released details of the first annual Baltic Sea Blackjack
Tournament. This new competition the format of which was agreed at the
European Gaming Forum in Malta will see players competing for a $20,000
first prize. The best national team will also be awarded an additional
$10,500. Qualifying rounds have started or are about to take place in Poland,
the Olympic Casino in Estonia and at Casino RAY in Helsinki. The finals
being held on the 18th November.

Rank Group who operate Grosvenor
Casinos and own the Hard Rock Cafes are planning on bringing the name
and theme to Manchester by transferring one their existing three licenses.
Rank announced recently that sales of film and holiday subsidiaries were
to concentrate on restaurants and gaming. The new location, the Printworks
is an £150 million leisure and entertainment development. Stanley
Leisure own and operate the two other casinos in the city.

owned Coast Resorts have opened their fourth casino in northwest Las Vegas.
The Suncoast has 2,100 slots and 45 tables and will be targeting the growing

leisure and casino operator Rank Group reported first half results on the
8th. Profits were up 9% to £65 million. Not reported in the Reuters
article was the profits from the gaming side of the companies operations.
Rank operates 31 casinos in the UK and 2 in Belgium under the Grosvenor
Casinos brand. The London casinos being the Victoria Sporting Club,
Clermont, Gloucester, Connoisseur, and Park Towers.

Casino at the Bucuresti Hotel. The 20 table opertion being financed by
Israeli businessman Avshalom Zuman. The casino will be competing with the
Partouche Casino in the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel that opened in 1999.
Despite these new openings, high rates of taxation is cited as to why the
number of casinos in the Romanian capital has declined to 7 from 17 in
1996.

have announced details of new products that will be debuted at the WGCE
in October by US subsidiary Atronic Americas. Games include Rock &

up the team are three representatives from show organizers and 11 from
industry suppliers and exhibitors. The theme of the inaugural meeting held
at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, London was 'Building increased value for

Explaining the value of the committee ICE, Marketing Director Julian Graves
