The opening was covered on YTV's Calendar whilst I was getting ready.

Selection of views of the gaming floor. Mauve, purple, pink and blue being the dominant colours.

Dealers and staff sensibly attired in black and whites plus waistcoat.

Excellent job on the signage.

Next morning.

Headline news in the Scarborough Evening News - "Casino opening is biggest night in years"

My base for a couple of nights - cheap and cheerful.

Scarborough Marina. No it's not Monte Carlo.

The Grosvenor Casino was the Opera House's competition. Rank closed it down a few months later.

Another view. Casino Stud Poker there had the loppiest layout I've ever seen on any gaming table.
...and that was on the same night the Opera House opened.

It did have a nice view though and right next door to the Grand Hotel.
